The Facilities Ministry:

The Facilities Ministry is charged with the care and custody of the properties of the church.  This group ensures that the physical plant of the church and our other buildings are in good repair and used appropriately to further our ministry to the community.  Our buildings are currently used for worship, Sunday-School, and Vacation Bible School.  It is a frequent site for weddings and is used by community associations such as the Wayne Art Leauge, Girl Scouts, Wayne DuPage Hunt pony club, the Wayne PTO, the garden club, a women's club, and a community bible study.

The work of the Facilities Ministry includes:

*The regular maintenance of all our buildings and grounds (the church itself, the Fellowship Hall, the Guild House, the former Dixon House and the former Peterson House)
*Special projects, such as interior-exterior painting, renovation of the kitchen-baths, creation of the Library/Bridal Room
*Weeding, landscaping, and maintenance of the courtyard
*Entering into contracts to buy or sell properties on behalf of the church (within guidelines established by the Church Council)

How can I become involved in the Facilities Ministry?

*Participate in workdays.
*Pick up a saw, hammer, or paintbrush.
*Pull that weed as you walk through the courtyard.
*Brush away the snow if you are the first member to arrive at the church after a snowfall.
*Pick up that trash that has blown onto the lawn.
*Alert the Facilities Ministry of a talent that you could volunteer like carpentry, painting, or electrical skills).
*Donate funding to cover specific capital improvements or repairs.
